Airmarking
Airmarking enhances flying safety. An airmarking project is a wonderful opportunity for chapters to get together in a relaxed atmosphere for a fun project. Invite your FWPs to join in, too, as it gives them a sense of attachment to the 99s.
The basis of this award is the calendar year, Jan. 1st to Dec. 31st. Awards are presented at the spring section meeting each year.
Submission Deadline: March 1st.
Submit your completed Airmarking Report form(s) by email or snail mail to:
Lynn Meadows – SWS Airmark Chairman
Please submit an airmarking form to the SWS Airmark Chairman for each project you do whether it is a compass rose or an airmark of the airport name or even numbers/threshold lines. Each chapter that participates should submit a form as both/all chapters will get credit.
Forms & Documents
IF you are having problems doing the math on the form, submit the form with all the other information and the letters/numbers you have painted and the height and the Airmark Chairman will compute the points.
WINGS – Pilot Proficiency Program
The FAA Wings Program is open to all chapters regardless of your total number of members because eligibility is based only on those members within your chapter still actively flying.
To obtain a WINGS certificate, a pilot take 3 Safety Seminars (either online or in person) and complete 3 flight Activities with an instructor in a given year. Credit is requested for these accomplishments online at the FAA website. Student pilots are encouraged to participate.
Contact WINGS Chair Dea “Cooper” Payette when you have completed a WINGS Phase. A tabulation form will be added to the awards section prior to the end of the year.
